ADD’s second home bout, this time against Manchester Roller Derby, ended in a 133-201 score. Although we lost again, we can look back on a very successful day. Many people came out to Amstelveen to see ADD play and in return they got to witness a really intense game. The audience provided the venue with a great atmosphere!
Right from the start, Manchester proved to be a tough opponent by being in the lead for the first couple of jams, but soon the tables turned and it was ADD scoring the most points per jam. Although the score was very close throughout the first period, it was 71-103 at half time: a result of the Amsterdam jammers and blockers serving time in the penalty box while the Manchester jammer had the perfect opportunity to lap the few remaining ADD skaters on the track.
So when the second period started, ADD had something to catch up on. As we saw in the first half of the game, both teams were quite evenly matched and they both kept scoring points. Unfortunately, and in spite of some brilliant power jams for ADD, the score stayed too far apart for a Dutch victory, but congratulations to Manchester Roller Derby for winning this game!
